Yoga legend BKS Iyengar passes away: Why was he so revered all over the world?

Bellur Krishnamachar Sundararaja Iyengar, improved famous as BKS Iyengar recently upheld divided during a developed aged age of 96 and even he couldn’t have dreamt of a impact his yoga teachings have had all over a world. His teachings remade yoga from an enigmatic devout practice, practised in a East, to a worldwide materialisation and one of a many renouned forms of use in a West. His tour began when his brother-in-law Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, invited him to come to live in Mysore to rehearse yoga to urge his unwell health after he had been cheerless with malaria, typhoid, influenza and TB as a kid.

 He would afterwards go on to set adult his possess practice, cater violinist Yehudi Menuhin, who became his tyro and invited Iyengar to Europe to learn others. His students would go on to embody luminaries from around a universe including Aldous Huxley, J Krishnamurthy and sportsmen like Martin Crowe, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Javgal Srinath, Rahul Dravid and Virendra Sehwag. His classes are even taught to troops academies and military army around a universe and even in prisons in Israel!

Such is his bequest that his birthday is distinguished as BKS Iyengar day in San Fransisco and his book Light on Yoga has been translated into 17 languages and he has 72 schools training his character of yoga opposite a US, Europe, India, Africa and even in China! Despite his luminary status, Iyengar lived a spare life. When asked about yoga’s recognition in a West, he told a NY Times:  ‘I consider many of my students have followed a recommendation we gave years ago, to give some-more than we take. The commercialism might rinse off someday later.’
