Ganesh Chaturthi 2014: Ulundu Kozhukattai (Urad dal Karanjiyas) recipe

karanjiIngredients


½ crater Urad dal


2 – 3 Green chillies


¼ tsp Turmeric powder


2 tbsp gratted Coconut


Salt – to taste


To temper:


½ tsp Mustard seeds


A splash of Hing (Asafoetida)


6 – 7 Curry leaves


A splash of turmeric powder


For a outdoor covering


3/4/ crater Rice flour


Salt – to taste


Water – as compulsory to form dough


Method:


  1. Soak urad dal for 1 to 2 hour. Drain H2O and grub it with immature chilies really coarsely. Do not make it pale and keep it aside.

  2. Steam a urad dal reduction in a steamer for 7-10mins.Cool down and pulp it with your fingers.
