Navratri Special Recipe: Punjabi rajma

Navratri Special Recipe: Punjabi rajmaA renouned plate from a Northern state of Punjab, Rajma, a Hindi name for red kidney beans, is high in protein and a good source of fibre. It is traditionally served with chapati. 


Ingredients


  • 1 1/2 cups (300 grams) red kidney beans, dripping overnight

  • 2 brook leaves

  • 1 middle onion finely chopped 

  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) grated ginger

  • 3-4 garlic cloves chopped

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 3 middle sized tomatoes, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon gram masala powder

  • 1 tablespoon chopped uninformed coriander

  • Salt to taste

Method


Cook beans with 5 cups of H2O in a vigour cooker compartment a vigour is expelled 5 times (five whistles) or compartment totally cooked. 


Add tomatoes, brook leaves and onion in a low nonstick vessel and stir it for 10 minutes. Add ginger and garlic and continue stirring for another 5 min.


As there is no oil we competence have to supplement 2 tablespoons of H2O if things start adhering in a pan. Add chili, coriander, turmeric, and cumin powder and stir.


Add salt and baked beans and a prohibited H2O and mix. Cook on low feverishness for 15 minutes, continue stirring in between. Adjust a salt according to ambience and supplement gram masala powder.


Cook for 5 some-more minutes. Garnish with uninformed coriander and offer prohibited with steamed rice.
